John Lachall

John Lachall concentrates his practice in the areas of civil and criminal litigation. His trial work in Federal and State courts covers a broad range of areas including personal injury (auto accidents, etc.), banking, business, and real estate litigation. John received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Joseph's University and his Juris Doctor Degree from Temple University School of Law.  John L. Lachall is a founding partner of the firm.  He has been practicing law since 1972. 

John represents clients in personal injury cases, automobile accidents, slip and fall, professional and medical malpractice as well as commercial and real estate litigation. He has secured substantial civil recoveries, including personal injury settlements in excess of One Million dollars.

John represents clients in State and Federal prosecutions charged with criminal offenses from summary offenses to misdemeanors and felonies. John’s practice has run the gamut from driving under the influence (D.U.I) to homicide trials. Additionally, John handles private detective applications, license suspension appeals, represents several leading security firms within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as representing minors in juvenile proceedings.  Finally, John has experience appearing before both State and Federal appellate courts.

John graduated from St. Joseph’s University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Temple University.  John is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

His memberships include the Chester County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association), The American Association for Justice, and the American Inns of Court.  John is a charter member of The Honorable John E. Stively, Jr., Inn of Court and is a past President.

Born in Philadelphia, John now resides in East Bradford Township with his wife.  His interests include boating, water skiing, auto racing, and motorcycling.

H. Michael Cohen

 

H. Michael Cohen is a founding partner of the firm.  He has been practicing law for more than 30 years.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of family law (divorce, etc.), wills, trusts, estate planning, probate and administration of estates, real estate, and business law including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.

His family law expertise includes divorce, support, and custody proceedings as well as adoption matters.  He is frequently involved in the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial agreements.  Michael represents individuals and business owners in estate planning and business succession planning.  He has provided legal counsel and advice for small businesses in the Chester County area since 1977.

Michael received his Bachelor of Art Degree from Bucknell and his Juris Doctor Degree from Villanova University School of Law.  He is admitted to practice law in all Pennsylvania Courts, the  U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Chester County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Throughout his career, Michael has been an active member of the local community having served as a member of both the Planning Commission and Borough Council for the Borough of Honey Brook, as Vice President of Beth Isarael Congregation of Chester County, and as a member of the Beth Israel Board of Directors for 15 years.

Michael is a lifelong resident of Chester County, residing in East Brandywine Township with his family where he enjoys running, skiing, and golf.

Arthur L. Sagnor, III

 

Arthur L. Sagnor, III joined the firm as an associate in January 1983 becoming a partner in 1987.  Art concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of real estate, business, banking and municipal law (zoning and land development and subdivision).  Art has abroad and successful range of experience in these areas of law.

Art’s real estate practice includes representing builders, sellers, and buyers of real estate, both commercial and residential from the letter of intent or agreement of sale to settlement.  Art represents large scale acquisitions financing of real estate for development and improvement projects.  Art’s expertise in representing banks includes loan preparation as well as the collection of loans in default via mortgage foreclosure, workout agreements, and forbearance agreements.  In the commercial real estate leasing area, Art has represented both landlords and tenants since the inception of his practice.  His landlord/tenant practice includes the negotiation and drafting of leases as well as litigation (primarily on behalf of commercial landlords) to recover monetary damages and/or possession of real estate as a result of lease defaults. 

Art represents various small businesses. He provides business advice as well as assisting in buying and selling of businesses.  Art has incorporated and organized corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships.  His business practice includes registration filing, negotiating and drafting of shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and limited partnership agreements.  Additionally, Art negotiates and drafts employment contracts as well as independent contractor agreements.   He has appeared before planning commissions, boards of supervisors (commissioners and councils) as well as zoning hearing boards throughout Chester and DelawareCounties.  Art’s practice includes representation of owners of real estate for land development and subdivision work, homeowners seeking zoning relief, and special exceptions.  Art has appeared before planning commissions, boards of supervisors (commissioners and councils), as well as, zoning hearing boards throughout Chester and DelawareCounties. 

Art is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  Memberships include the Chester County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and an associate membership with the Home Builders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties.  He has lectured in the past on the topics of mortgage foreclosures and sheriff sales on behalf of the Chester County Bar Association.

Art is a lifelong resident of Chester County attending Bishop Shanahan High School while graduating from Octorara Area High School.  Art graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Chester University. While there, Art was a member of the rugby club and Pi Gamma Mu National Honor Society.  Art was awarded the D.T. Marrone Law Scholarship upon graduating from West Chester University.  Art received his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law.   Art excelled as captain of the rugby club, known as Garey Hall Rugby as well as attaining a membership in the St. Thomas Moore Society while attending Villanova University School of Law.

Art now resides in Westtown Township with his daughter, who attends Penn State University in State College.  He is a member of St. Maximilian Colbe Church. His interests include exercise, golf, travel, and reading.

J. Timothy Arndt, III

 

J. Timothy Arndt III has been practicing law since 1997.  In January of 2002 he was made an associate of this firm.  Prior to his successful work at Lachall, Cohen & Sagnor, Tim earned his impeccable reputation working for a leading insurance defense firm in Wyomissing, Pennsylvaniaand for Central Pennsylvania Legal Services in their Reading office.  Tim now concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, bankruptcy, and general civil litigation.

Tim’s real estate work includes the representation of numerous local banks and builders in connection with lending and real estate development.  He also represents several local banks and individual creditors in Bankruptcy Court.  Tim’s litigation work primarily includes representation of individuals and small businesses (corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships) in the area of debt collection.  Additionally, Tim represents banks and lenders in mortgage foreclosure actions as well as real estate bidders at Sheriff’s Sales.

Tim is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  Tim is a member of the Chester County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association as well as The Honorable John E. Stively, Jr., Inn of Court.

Tim graduated from the Universityof Pittsburgh with a BA in Political Science and minors in both Communications and Music.  Tim was a celebrated member of the Varsity Letterman’s Club having lettered in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track. He was also a member of the Dean’s List and was All-Academic Big East. Tim received his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law.

Tim was active in Republican politics while in college and in law school, and worked as a legislative aide to State Representative Timothy F. Hennessey.  Born in Bryn Mawr, Tim now resides in HoneyBrook Township, Chester County
